Secret Quilt (6 hours)
Pick up your cutter, have some fun, you won´t know what it looks like `til it´s done! We can tell you that it is a twin-sized classic quilt design with a bonus, so join us for a carefree day.

All-machine Organic Landscape (6-8 hours)
Using a landscape pattern provided by the instructor, students will learn to machine-piece their background, do a method of freezer-paper appliqué by machine, and add detail using stitchery and the confetti method of "painting" with
little fabric bits. Some guidelines for machine quilting will be demonstrated. The resulting wall hanging is 29" x 39" for the 8 hour course, smaller for the 6 hour course.
- Students should already be comfortable with their sewing machines.
- Kit of fabrics recommended (can be provided by instructor)
Pictorial Construction (12-18 hours) Architectural/Landscape/human Subject
Use a variety of hand and machine methods to achieve realism. Covers enlargement techniques for non-artists. Many demonstrations given, then students use techniques they feel most comfortable with.
- Students should feel confident with machine and hand work.
- This class combines well with hand dyeing classes
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Teaching Quiltmaking (6-12 hours)
In a seminar format, supplemented by some hands-on development of teaching materials, discover 50 teaching tips, share concerns with fellow teachers, discuss proposals, attracting clients/employers, finding your niche, ethics, making
samples, contracts, pricing fairly, classroom management, and follow-up.
This course would be useful for current teachers, quilt-shop representatives, and quiltmakers interested in becoming teachers. Actual course content depends on course length.

FABRIC TO DYE FOR (3 options, each requires 3 hours)

Phototransfer (6 hours)
Phototransfer samples many methods to transfer photocopies of your treasured photographs to cloth. You will leave class with lots of samples and information for further experimentation at home.

Family Album Quilt (6 hours)
Uses a 4" block grid to incorporated your transferred photos to a quilt. Suitable for all levels.
Paint `n Stitch a Landscape (6 hours)
Paint a little scene on cotton, then learn some machine-stitchery techniques to make close-up details some alive.

Double Wedding Ring: The Quicker Way (6 hours)
This traditionally challenging pattern is made much simpler with the use of commercially-made templates and machine sewing. Workshop participants can expect to complete a ring or two in class, with a table runner or one or two
cushion covers being the goal for the day´s labour. The available commercial templates will be shared so participants will not need to invest in them unless they wish to.

Victorian Crazy Patch (6 hours)
By hand or machine, you can construct a crazy-patch item of your choice (some patterns available) and learn the traditional or modern embroidery, beading, and embellishment techniques. Here you will find
a perfect showcase for elegant scraps of satin, velvet and lace, and for special mementos and charms.

1:12 or 1:6 Scale Miniatures (6 hours)
Make a complete king-sized quilt in a day.
Impossible, you say? Not when you make a correctly-scaled Log Cabin or Irish Chain for a doll house bed. With up to 364 pieces in each quilt, machine-sewing is much easier than you would think, and you hardly use up any of your fabric stash.
