Thinking About a Puppy?

A puppy is a commitment and becomes a part of your family for as many as 15 years or more. CEDARWOOD LABRADORS breeds selectively and carefully planned litters of the highest quality. Temperament comes from parents and grandparents who not only are wonderful retrievers but devoted to their humans.

They are gentle, very good with children and very willing to please. Physical soundness is critical to me; every puppy has generations of OFA hips certified ‘Good’ or ‘Excellent’, OFA certified elbows, eyes cleared yearly by ACVO and CERF, and all are OPTIGEN A-1 non-carriers for the gene that produces PRA blindness.

Conformation to the standard and most always from champion sires and dams, structural correctness and English type are predictable.

Litters are evaluated at 7 weeks of age and after my evaluation, I determine which puppy is available to the new owners.

CEDARWOOD PUPPIES are often reserved before they are born and I will also refer to ONLY the breeders I know to be honest and ethical.

CEDARWOOD PUPPIES have dew claws removed at 3-5 days of age, are wormed at 2, 4, and 6 weeks and are vaccinated at 7 weeks.

Success with your puppy is easy when you are ‘set up’ properly. The puppy must be in a kennel established space whenever you are not directly supervising. Puppy has a place to be with fresh water, shelter, toys and secured away from free roam where puppy can get into trouble. Puppy is happy and awaits the family’s time when they are home and when it is ‘puppy time’. A provision of my puppy placement is that the puppy will never be tied!!!

My ‘SUCCESS WITH PUPPY’ article written for my column in the national magazine, will tell you how to crate and house train and, teach ‘baby basics’ for retrieving, coming, sitting, laying down, staying “off”. Please ask any questions you have regarding other pets in the home, past dog problems, anything that I might be able to help you with.

You are provided help with PUPPY VOCABULARY and help making communication easy for both of you!
